Getting to Worthing
Worthing is situated on the
West Sussex coast ten miles west of Brighton and 18 miles east of Chichester. It lies around 60
miles south west of London.
By Road
If you are travelling to Worthing from either east or
west, you're quickest route is usually the A27. Mostly dual carriageway, the
A27 cuts through the Downs from Chichester and beyond in the
west to Lewes in the east. For an alternative route, take the A259 coast
road, which runs from Chichester as far east as Folkestone.
From London, take the M25 London Orbital motorway picking up
the A24 at Junction 9. Alternatively, take the M23 Brighton road and join the
A24 at Crawley or the A27 on the outskirts of Brighton
By Bus/Coach
There are regular coach services from Victoria Coach Station in
London.
There are a number of local bus services which serve the town and
other nearby coastal towns from Brighton to
Portsmouth as well as Horsham and other inland destinations.
The main service provider is Stagecoach Coastline which runs a half-hourly
service. Other companies, such as Brighton and Hove Buses,
operate limited services. A number of routes are operated with easy access
low floor buses designed for people with disabilities and parents with
buggies.

By Rail
There are five stations within the Worthing Borough. From the main station,
Worthing Central, there are frequent direct trains to and from
London Victoria via Hove, Haywards Heath, Gatwick and East Croydon. Average journey time is 1hr 20 mins.
Connex South Central is the main service provider
and runs a frequent local service to Brighton where passengers
for the City of London, King's Cross and Bedford can join Thameslink services. Connex also operates eastward services to Lewes and Eastbourne and to Arundel, Littlehampton, Bognor Regis and further westward to
Portsmouth, Southampton and Bournemouth.
Worthing Central is also served by Southwest Trains which run an
hourly service between Basingstoke and Brighton via Chichester, Havant and Winchester; while Wales and West Trains stop at Worthing twice a day for
its service from Brighton to Cardiff, via Salisbury, Bath and

By Ferry
There are over 15 different cross channel sea routes within 2-3 hours drive.
Newhaven to the east, and Portsmouth to the west are the nearest ports.

Gatwick Airport, the UK's second busiest airport is less than 30 miles away by road. Direct
rail links to Worthing take about half an hour. Business passengers can
also fly to Shoreham
Airport, just a couple of miles outside Worthing.
